Awakened from her slumber

Talgut

A property with history and soul.

The house, the hosts, and the history

The property

Talgut,
the history

Just a handful of houses share this indescribably idyllic spot near the village center, offering a magnificent view. The historic building was constructed in 1908 by Privy Councillor Dr. Otto, one of the major landowners and influential figures of the time. The property passed through various illustrious hands before being sold to Sabine Horlacher.

Until 2016, the originally beautiful estate stood empty for many years and was forgotten.

If a house could speak, it would have burst into tears when it finally received human support and prospects for the future.

Having spent my childhood and started school in Ofterschwang, and having always felt a strong connection to this place, I decided to take on the challenge with courage, imagination, a willingness to take risks, and tireless diligence. Sabine Horlacher herself handled the planning, permitting, and construction management, working with skilled tradespeople and expertise to bring the building to life after six months of construction. To this day, further innovations and improvements are developed and added to the house each year, always with the guest's needs in mind. This vision has taken shape in what she considers her masterpiece, the Talgut, a kind of manufactory for vacationers, combining architecture and human well-being with a high degree of sophistication and understated elegance.
